Deuteronomy 5:16 (ESV)
Honour your father and your mother, as the LORD your God commanded you, that your days may be long, and that it may go well with you in the land that the LORD your God is giving you.
For those dealing with the cares and concerns of older years: Pray that the Lord would look with mercy on all for whom increasing years bring isolation and distress. Pray that He would give them understanding helpers and the willingness to receive what is offered. Pray that as their strength diminishes, that their faith would increase and receive greater assurances of His love.
For those caring for elderly parents and others: pray for our hearts to be open in caring for our parents and always be there for them; that we express self denial and honour our parents. Pray for caregivers at aged care facilities. They have such a hard job and many times don’t receive acknowledgement for what they do. May they know the importance and beauty of their job.
For those in aged care: Pray for comfort and hope for those who are in aged care. May they feel God’s presence and know He sees them as precious. May those who are in Christ grow in faith; may those not yet in Christ come to know Him as Saviour and Lord.
