SCCCC is the Sunshine Coast’s only Chinese-language congregation. The congregation meets in Grace’s facilities on Sunday afternoons. The church has recently celebrated its 15th anniversary.
When the church was founded, there were only an estimated 300 Chinese language speakers on the Sunshine Coast. Today, over 3000 Chinese language speakers call the Sunshine Coast home, in addition to students at the University of the Sunshine Coast.
The church’s services are in Mandarin and Cantonese. The last Sunday of the month has a guest preacher who preaches in English and the sermon is translated into Chinese. This accommodates spouses and children for whom English is their first language.
The congregation is pastored by Dr Richard Jiang, who recently graduated from the Brisbane School of Theology with a Bachelor of Theology degree.
SCCCC asks that we pray for them in the following ways:
- For the outreach of SCCCC (including play group, home visiting of local Chinese and new migrants).
- For a baptismal service on 21st April.
- That we join with them in praise to the Lord. He said: “lift up your eyes, and see that the fields are white for harvest.” Already the one who reaps is receiving wages and gathering fruit for eternal life, so that sower and reaper may rejoice together.
- That we join them in thanking the Lord for His grace.
