Missions Update, May 2018

Each month, our GO Team keep us up to date with what's happening in the lives of our mission partners. Here are this month's updates and prayer points.

If you want to find out more about our mission partners and their work, please visit our Mission Partners page.

Praise points

  • For missionaries to take on much of Wendy’s responsibilities while we’re in Australia for six months.
  • That Callum (our eldest son) is learning and growing as he continues to settle into uni life.
  • For timely help from one of our HMT members as Callum struggled with a large programming assignment. He has four exams in June.
  • That our plans for Australia for the latter half of the year are coming together.

Prayer points

  • For missionaries to take on much of Wendy’s responsibilities while we’re in Australia for six months.
  • For the practical needs of a car and a house in Australia that are being sorted out in June, plus reliable internet as soon as possible after we move in in July (Wendy will still be doing some online-based editing work). We have a group of people working on these things on our behalf.
  • Callum has not yet heard back about his application to Centrelink for financial assistance. He was unable to apply until he landed in Australia in February, but is still yet to hear anything from time. Please pray for news soon.
  • For peace and wisdom as we make our transition back to Australia, flying out on July 1. Pray especially that Doug and Jamie (our younger two sons) will transition well into their new schools.

The Marshalls are scheduled to visit Grace in November. More details will follow.

Please pray for...

  • Wednesday meetings: that speakers will deliver relevant messages that contain clear presentation of the Gospel.
  • Wisdom for Dave & Anna as they plan events and lead Bible studies, that God will use their work to grow students in their faith and as witnesses for Christ.

Please pray for...

  • Tom as he continues to develop curriculum for the Certificate and Diploma level qualifications
  • Margaret as she teaches the kids and as they settle into their new community
  • The kids to develop good friendships
  • the Presbyterian Assembly meeting in August, that all will be united in their goals of reaching Vanuatu for Christ.

Please pray for...

  • Karen’s return to the Solomon Islands next month – that planning for the trip will be smooth and the work done efficiently.
  • Pray for the training of Martha and Teresa in taking over her role of teaching Bible based literacy.
  • Pray that LASI (Literary Association of the Solomon Islands) is able to coordinate this ongoing task effectively and sustainably.
  • Pray for good health and especially protection from parasites!
  • Pray for additional financial support for Karen to meet her needs for her last year with Wycliffe.
