Prayer Focus: ‘Continued Freedom to Proclaim the Gospel’ (06 December 2020)

Each week we focus our worship service and Grace Community Group prayers on a topic or theme. This week, our prayer focus is for continued freedom to proclaim the gospel.

‘First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.’ (1 Timothy 2:1–4 ESV)

  • Thank God for the freedom we’ve had to proclaim the gospel until now
  • Pray for lawmakers to pass just and fair legislation that still allows for freedom to proclaim the truth about Jesus
  • Pray for grace to honour and submit to governing authorities under God, as far as we are able, ‘godly and dignified in every way’.

Each week, we also pray through one of the core commitments from our church vision statement. This week’s commitment is to serving one-another.

By grace, we are committed to grow together in Jesus
through the ministry of church members to one-another.
(1 Peter 4:10)

Please pray that we would be eager to love one-another, care for one-another, and help one-another to grow as Christians.
