Prayer Focus: ‘Families’ (14 Mar 2021)

Prayer Focus Each week we focus our worship service and Grace Community Group prayers on a topic or theme. This week, our prayer focus is for families

‘“Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one.You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.’ (Deuteronomy 6:4–9 ESV)

  • Thank God for the blessings of families, especially the family of God that we are all part of in Christ
  • Pray for courage and wisdom for parents to guide their children towards Christlikeness in a world where so many others voices vie for their attention
  • Pray for children to honour their parents, to love them, to trust them, and to obey them, because this brings God glory

Core Commitment Each week, we also pray through one of our church’s core commitments. This week’s core commitment is to regularly gathering for worship.

By grace, we are committed to grow together in Jesus
by regularly gathering together as a body of believers for worship
(see Hebrews 10:24-25)

Please pray that we would prioritise and look forward to gathering together as a church family to worship Jesus, even with the current restrictions in place.
