Prayer Focus: ‘For Eyes to Behold God’ (1 May 2022)

Each week we focus our church family prayers on a topic or theme. This week, our prayer focus is for eyes to behold God.

‘But blessed are your eyes, for they see, and your ears, for they hear. For truly, I say to you, many prophets and righteous people longed to see what you see, and did not see it, and to hear what you hear, and did not hear it.’ (Matthew 13:16–17 ESV)

  • Thank the Lord that he is at work for his glory in our world and in his church
  • Pray for eyes of faith to see what God is doing in our joys and sorrows, in our successes and failures, to bring glory to his name and to make us more like his Son Jesus
  • Pray that we would be faithful to draw alongside one-another, and seek to behold God together in all the circumstances of our lives

Core Commitment

Each week, we also pray through one of our church’s core commitments. This week’s core commitment is to being a presbyterian church.

‘By grace, we are committed to grow together in Jesus through the practice of a presbyterian form of church government, as defined in the Westminster Confession of Faith and in the WPC book of church order.’ (see 1 Peter 5:1-3, 1 Thessalonians 2:15)

Thank God for our elders and church leaders, and pray that the way we operate as a church would always be driven by the gospel.
