Prayer Focus: ‘The Elderly in our Community and Church Family’ (21 Feb 2021)

Prayer Focus Each week we focus our worship service and Grace Community Group prayers on a topic or theme. This week, our prayer focus is for the elderly in our community and church family

‘“Listen to me, O house of Jacob, all the remnant of the house of Israel, who have been borne by me from before your birth, carried from the womb; even to your old age I am he, and to gray hairs I will carry you. I have made, and I will bear; I will carry and will save.’ (Isaiah 46:3–4 ESV)

  • Thank God for the blessing of long life, especially the witness of many in our church family who have known Christ for a very long time
  • Pray the Lord to comfort them, to relieve loneliness, distress and fear, and replace diminishing strength with increased faith and assurance of salvation in Jesus
  • Pray for us to show them honour, love and compassion in their increasing years.

Core Commitment Each week, we also pray through one of our church’s core commitments. This week’s core commitment is to an evangelical and reformed understanding of the Bible

By grace, we are committed to learn about Jesus through an evangelical and reformed understanding of the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ, as presented in Scripture.
(see Romans 1:16-17)

Please pray that we would never be tempted to add to what the Bible says, or to what Jesus has done for us.
