Prayer Focus: ‘The spread of the gospel among Muslims’ (16 May 2021)

Each week we focus our church family prayers on a topic or theme. This week, our prayer focus is for the spread of the gospel among Muslims.

‘Jesus said, “Truly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or lands, for my sake and for the gospel, who will not receive a hundredfold now in this time, houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecutions, and in the age to come eternal life.’ (Mark 10:29–30 ESV)

  • Pray that we would have compassion and courage to love our Muslim friends and neighbours, so we might meet have opportunities to introduce them to Jesus
  • Pray for those Muslims who have surrendered to Christ at great cost and risk, that the LORD would be their Father, their defender, and their great reward.
  • Pray for those serving Christ in the Muslim world, for protection, courage and a firm faith in the power of the gospel to bring people from death to life.

Core Commitment Each week, we also pray through one of our church’s core commitments. This week’s core commitment is to sharing the good news of the gospel.

By grace, we are committed to declare to the world that Jesus Christ is Lord through sharing the good news that God’s Son, Jesus Christ, gave up his life for the sins of the world, and rose from death to rule God’s Kingdom forever.
(see 1 Corinthians 15:1-5)

Please pray that we would have the faith and courage to tell those we meet about our Lord and Saviour.
