When we read about the resurrection in the Bible, we can easily think the writers’ agenda is just to convince us that it happened. Writing some thirty years after Jesus’ death and resurrection, Luke’s readers took for granted that it happened. What they need isn’t convincing about rhe resurrection, they need confidence in the gospel. And Luke shows that confidence in the gospel comes from God’s work through God’s Word.
